Mahindra Agri’s Seeds Business has established R&D programs in key field crops, such as Rice, Corn, and Pearl Millet. In vegetables, the focus is on Hot Pepper, Tomato, Okra, and Watermelon. The wide testing network in targeted environment, the sustained efforts of increasing the genetic gain for traits of importance and incremental investments in research have enabled identification of superior resilient hybrids and research varieties in Rice, Corn and vegetables suitable for different agro-climatic zones of India. The Company has also technological collaboration with some of the leading technology partners for access to cutting edge technologies for crop improvement and reduced time to market. Given the focus on quality, technology & strong brand image, the company is well on course to become one of the leading brands for Hybrids seeds in the Indian market, making its small contribution to delivering prosperity to farmers in the country.

B. Product Development
The trials and testing of research identified products is conducted in farmers field under the supervision of highly skilled and trained technical product development staff across geographies to meet the business requirement. Good quality trials are laid down against market leading checks at right marketplace with precision & accuracy with high-quality data output which is our foundation of concrete & conclusive decision making after review with stakeholders. This helps in fitment of the products in different market segments and enables successful launches in the targeted geographies.
Along with data collection and analysis, observations by the team and feedback from farmers are given the utmost importance for advancement of products.
Also, Product Development team provides Product Knowledge Training and Knowledge sharing to Sales team and Farmers. We also coordinate and arrange trials with State Agricultural Universities and government institutions to benchmark our products. This continuous interaction ensures that the strength of our R&D and products is acknowledged by universities and the government.

Seed production
MASL produces hybrid seeds in field and vegetable crops through more than 8000 registered farmers / contract growers spread across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, MP, MH, CG, OD, Rajasthan, and Punjab in 25000 acres of land. The production is carried out through robust system of Seed Production monitored with digital app M-Seeds by qualified and experienced Agri-professionals.

The essential seed conditioning activities for value addition to transform raw seeds to marketable seeds are being carried out for Field Crops and Veg Seeds having total capacity of 30000 MT / annum.

MASL is driven by the principle of 'Quality First’. The company has robust and stringent quality management system with Mahindra Quality Standard as a norm and the QA policy as goal to assure quality at various stages of seeds chain. Quality Management at Seeds Business focus on Product & Processes of live entity as Seed, which spread across R&D, Production, Processing plant, Storage & Dispatch and Customer Care. Deploying standardized processes across functions through SOPs and formats ensures that products are delivered according to customer requirements. Robust customer complaint redressal system addresses the customer requirements/ feedback and thereby effective and quick resolution of complaints and queries. which helps us to refine and enhance quality.
The MASL’s Seed Testing Laboratory located at Hyderabad follows ISTA rules for Seed Testing. The Field Plot Test / Grow Out Test are carried out at Hyderabad and Karnataka. While Field Quality assurance activities carried out throughout seed multiplication chain (Breeder Seeds , Foundation Seeds , Commercial Seed production) at critical stage of crop growth to post harvest clearance at different seed production locations spread in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh .

We operate in 2 countries and 22 states in India, with a strong sales force of over 200 people and more than 900 enthusiastic channel partners, serving over 3 million farmers. Our collective efforts contribute to increased crop yields and higher farm incomes, helping to deliver prosperity to the farming community.
Farmers first Approach
We connect to more than 6 lakhs+ farmers through our Demand generation activities & they are trained for innovative crop production practices to attain higher productivity, and we aim to reach 20 lakhs+ farmers in next 2 years.
Farmer engagements & brand recall activities are carried out at regular intervals at Village Level through activities like Crop Shows, Village level meetings (VLMs) & door to door campaigns.
